Erythropoietin
Haematopoietic hormone produced by liver and kidneys.
Erythropoietin is a hormone produced by the kidneys and the liver, which is released if the oxygen saturation of the blood falls below a certain level. It stimulates haematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow to produce more erythrocytes (erythropoiesis), that increases the oxygen transport capacity of the blood.
